The Rabbit Hole

I recently pivoted to being all in regarding online education. This will be my focus for at least the next 10-20 years.

It’s a theme I’ve had on my mind and talked about for the past 5 years, and now it’s time to dedicate myself to it.

But why? And, more importantly, why should you care?

Here are 3 ideas to spark an interest in you (I’ll talk a lot more in the future, be ready).

If you like them, feel free to dive into the rabbit hole.

The current education system is outdated. It’s stuck in the industrial era.

It prints the same type of people, for the same type of jobs. Like training robots for a factory.

  • People learn in so many different ways.

  • When entering University, you don’t know what you want.

  • More than 70% of university graduates don’t work in their field of study.

I could go on. But a change is needed. And (good) online education is part of that.

AGI will replace a lot of jobs. Soon.

Another reason why I’m all in for the future of online education is AGI being able to replace a lot of jobs.

100’s of millions will be replaced by AI in the whole world.

And, all of these people will need to learn new skills, new paths, new ways to provide value.

I believe that most of them will do so online.

We need to focus on having the best experience, access, and quality in online education.

Which leads to the third point.

Naval Ravikant has said: “There are almost 7B people on this planet. Someday, I hope, there will be almost 7B companies.”

Yes, that is an old quote. And we need to disregard everyone who is below 18 and the ones retired.

But, I believe we will have 2-3 billion one-person companies / freelancers / solopreneurs.

We already have around 1 billion, but the number will explode somewhere in the next 10 years.

A lot of them will teach others, be mentors, and pass along their knowledge and skills.

Again, through online education. :)

You see where I’m going. I could write a book about this.

We will need a lot of new tools, systems, services, and thinking.

The Revenue Stream

Online Education

It only makes sense that I continue this theme into the revenue stream opportunity.

Everyone in the world (take it with a grain of salt) has something that others would pay to learn.

Think about the person you were 2-5 years ago.

What problems and challenges did you have back then, that you have solved?

I promise thousands of people would pay to learn from you to save time, save them from mistakes, and fast-track their progress.

Find who these people are and where they “live” online. It’s easy because you probably know.

Talk with some of them and see if they’re interested.

Then you can either offer 1-1 consulting or build a course and sell to all of them.
