👀 Joe Biden issued an Executive Order for AI

I feel that everyone in the AI field has read about this somewhere but for those outside of the field, I linked the fact sheet for the Executive Order.

Many are against it and feel that it’s a way to keep the power within the big companies.

The movement e/acc (will be for a later post) will fight against it and it’s important to notice that Executive Orders are not legislation.

🔎 What the hell is Urbit?

This was close to being my rabbit hole for the week. Urbit is an OS and network that is 100% owned by its users. Very mysterious but interesting concept.

Essentially they don’t want big corporations to be in charge of the apps and services we use daily. It runs on any cloud servers, laptops, and phones that have Unix and an internet connection.

Runway is changing the world of video creation with AI. People are using it to create short-form movies and amazing videos that before would take days or weeks to make, but now take just a few hours.

They are on a mission to eliminate obstacles such as high costs, technical know-how, and geographical limitations. Anyone will be able to create movies! Isn’t that crazy?
